Precious, memorable baby pictures of Nur'Aishah, just melts you as time passes.

Born on the 14th December 2001, 28th Ramadhan, and premature at 34 weeks, and weighing 2.43kg, we brought our daughter back home after almost a week and a bit from SCUBU RIPAS Hospital. The much awaited precious one.

A'ishah at 1 year 2 months old, we went on our first trip overseas to Kuala Lumpur. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Observe her still short hair, my poor baby and yet still adorable and oh so precious!

In Brisbane, Australia for our yearly holiday. A'ishah at just 2 years old taking a picture at Looney Tunes Village. The smile just melts you to bits.

At 2 years 1 month old, we parents decided to get her to a proper swimming lessons. She already began to show interest and love for water.

At four years old plus, Nur'Aishah graduated in her 1st ballet class. Here posing for the Ballet photo album.

No matter how busy, always make time to be with your precious ones, because there will never be that moment where you can take back and for all we know, she has already grown up so fast.

Long Time.

Sorry readers...not been updating my blog for quite a while now. Been busy with the work and all and also adjusting to the fasting month. Its been very difficult the past few days especially when your body craves for food and ciggies. But its okay now. Sleepless, sorry about the planned hangout before puasa, time just flew by without realising. Nanti saja tah ah? And thanks for the wonderful comment.
Gadgetski must be already in the groove in his studies, Kambo must be studying like never before....oik kambo your blogs are deeeeeep man!!! sometimes I dunno what'chaaaaaaa (pinjam the slogan from gadgetski) talking about, 0013 is umm...where is he now ah? Jetsetting to his next destination I guess, Bob hope is enjoying his deserved vacation in Hengland, and I think the contractors for the site is screaming for updates.
Office life is less hectic now, as there are more employees. At the moment pretty much happy with the performance, but still need a couple of trainings before they are up to my requirements. At least I can have my mini breaks and have more time with my family.
Future looks pretty much okay, and I must stay on top of things, otherwise alot will be lost and I dont deserve it. Time flies and its already September. I must have my small vacation with my family in December as I promised them. I think we deserve a nice vacation by the end of the year. It has been quite hectic year, full of surprises and some disappointments, but hey...as they say C'est La Vie! (This is Life!)
I think my french lingo is gone and lost forever. I dont think I will be able to pick it up much anymore. Talking of picking up....when the heck am I going to do my exercises huh? Konon kan main golf semula starting puasa ani!?!?! Mana? Mana? Indaaaa ada....nah nah nah.....! It never came around. Will try lah. Dunno when, but definitely will have to try.
Maaan so many things to do but so little time.... Bah till next time....Adios Muchachos and senoritas whoever you may be!

My thoughts at the moment.....

I know its been a while since I last wrote. Been extremely busy with projects and all in KB & bandar and been working late into the night and had a severe migraine 3 days ago which didn't want to go away after taking panadol a couple of times. It only went off like 4am in the morning. And by that time, I had to wake up at 7 in the morning to do the work in office all over again. So it was not really a pleasant day to start off with.

Yes, I guess I am overworked and awkwardly inefficient at this time and I guess I need to hire good people around me to help half my work and give me some time with my family.

I had a medical check up on the 3rd of September and even with my prescription of 2 high blood pressure pills, my blood pressure is still high at 150/100 and the Doctor prescribed me a different pill to take together with my current pill. That means 3 pills altogether to be taken for the day!

Here are my thoughts of the moment:

- To establish a Support Operations team for my company to do the logistics, the accounts and the general management of the company

- To hire Technical Operations team and do the maintenance, projects and other technical matters and fire the useless immediately.

- To start doing activities as soon as possible to lower my high blood pressure and my overall well-being.

- To open up my ground floor to the public by providing real coffee beans brewed coffee, tit bits, cybercafe and a mini mart functionality for daily income.

- To set up my office properly to cater for newcomers and project managers both local or foreign.

- To get additional servers to cater the company setup

- To think of a good school for my daughter to give her all her available options for her future. Her current school is very good no doubt providing her with an excellent foundation, but I am more worried on her religious training, her mother tongue and the opportunity work her way to the best school the government can offer; ie the Science School and her govt scholarship opportunities.

- The upcoming projects in KB which will make me go haywire in my current setup unless the above is implemented.

GROAN!

My girl got her yellow!

8th September 2007

My girl got through her Taek Won Do test, remembered all her moves was promoted to Yellow belt! Good going my dearest! Both babu & ayah is so proud of you!

Aside from her Taek Won Do, she was promoted to the next intermediate level in her ballet at Studio Scene early this year, and she joins in Art Classes too. Poor babu tired out mostly sending & fetching you from your extra-curricular activities. But those are the sacrifices we have to make to make sure you have your fun and life full of your chosen activities.

In a Swimming Competition (Brunei Swimming Club Competition) for the first time....

2nd September 2007

My poor lil' 5 year old daughter suddenly stopped 3/4 of a way out of a 50 meter free style swimming competition for the category 9 years and under whilst being in 2nd position with only half a stoke away and catching up to a 9 year old girl in front of her(the girl who eventually ended up with 6 medals for the under 9 category). Her choking on water had her stopped half way to the finish line in which she could easily have won, but she pushed herself till the finishing line eventually coming in 4th. She also lost the 4X50meters relay due to one of her team mates didn't touch the wall.
With support from her parents and grandparents, her cousins and Aunts, even her coaches, we were routing and cheering for her shouting with enthusiasm. We were disappointed in the end nevertheless we were all very proud of what she could have achieved and her determination to finish a tough race considering that she was the youngest in the group, albeit the youngest to represent the Brunei National Swimming Scheme.
My dearest daughter, I know how disappointed you may feel, but its just a step up to your future. There is always many other opportunities later on as both babu and ayah knows that you have done your best and we know what you can achieve and proud of your determination. Just by being chosen to represent the National Scheme at your age is already amazing as it is and we will always support you whatever you do. Even ayah, uncle Sham and and Uncle Kambo didnt get to do what you did at your age. So chins up baby, you do us all proud!

Have you ever Wondered?

Have you ever wondered or at least noticed that the 2nd born is usually different from the other siblings? In what way if you'd ask me back. Well..this is the thing. I have always noticed and especially observed not only from my own siblings but from other observations as well, that the 2nd born is different in some way or another. Different doesn't mean anything bad I have to add. But they are different sometimes in character, attitude, thinking and socialising, etc. Its not to say that they are entirely different to the next person, but they have traits which is sometime out of the ordinary.

They are usually quiet, geniuses in some way or another, sometimes peculiarly dressed or well dressed or even the reverse, unkempt. Their thoughts are sometimes unique bordering philosophical intelligence, brilliant in terms of argumentative points, and mathematically up there with the best.

Even their sense of concentration is dumbfounded, sometimes insatiably one tracked minded. And yet, sometimes one can be annoyed by such characteristics. But then again, its that kind of uniqueness that brings about the best in that person.

John Locke said that Man is homogeneous as a whole, but its these kinds of "geniuses" that is exceptional from the rest. Whether they are viewed as wierd, eccentric, odd, bizarre, outlandish, extraordinary, peculiar, mysterious, exotic, foreign or even simply put different, they are an unknown talent and a mystery especially noted on 2nd born. Why on 2nd borns, I dont know, but its interesting to find out.

But hey, its just my observations, an observation that I have been looking at for many years now and still perplexed by the consistency of such behavior on 2nd born. If anyone out there can comment on this or even provide me with an explanation, I would be really grateful. Its like a kind of itch that wont go away where you want to know why.

Try and notice this phenomenon and see for yourselves.

Camcorder of the moment

I have elected this camcorder to be the current best. With 60GB of Hard Drive & additional option with Memory card SD, flawless zooming till macro, vibration damping, optional additional microphone holder, 10X optical 200X digital zoom, and after googlising a couple of other brands and reading some comments on the forum, this is my kindda babe! And it looks pretty professional too.. I WANT!!

Spec Rest

These past few months, I have been bumped off from my bed by my daughter for reasons unknown, hmmm maybe I know but not sure, guess because of my unavailability to her during workdays. Anyway, I will be crawling to her car bed sleepily without arguments. But somehow or rather I cant find a suitable place to place my specs, coz the car bed spoilers which acts as a headrest is too worriedly slippery (slipstreaming design hehe) coz I've had my specs fall off to the floor a couple of times. Eventually I was able to improvise and due to two teddy bears guarding me on both sides of the pillow, I just chose the one on my right and placed my flexible rubber specs onto it. Satisfied that it will not fall off, I smiled and fell asleep contentedly knowing that my gurls will discover a funny looking bear with specs overlooking their sleeping man of the house, and hoping that they will pity me and let me have my bed back.

Yes I did wake up in the car bed this morning and until I can find a point to negotiate my bed back, I guess Mr Bear, you will have to be my spec guardian for the time being.

Precision Tools of Mass Destruction.

Tools that is in my possession to utterly destroy the competition.... (tah karang!!)

Table Tennis/Ping Pong

Blade - Schlager Carbon Proline five-ply with thick Balsa center core followed by two layers of carbon and topped off with Hinoki outer plies.

Red Rubber - Bryce 2.1mm with rating of speed @ 12 and spin @ 9.5, Density 35

Black Rubber - Bryce 2.1mm with rating of speed @ 12 and spin @ 9.5, Density 35

Rubber Rating : 495
Combination Power Rating: 990

Balls - Nitakku 40mm *** star speed rating

Bag - Viper Tour Case with heavy duty double racket cases with plastic insert & side storage pouch. Extra storage pouch inside. Holds two rackets & four balls.

Comment: This combination of rubber and blade is for power loopers who whack the ping pong balls to oblivion. Allows super fiaast forehand as well as attacking backhand. "Able to leap high building in one single bound" - taken from Superman the movie. Not easy to get used to at first due to its extreme rebound and fair control, but once you get the hang of it, it instills confidence and Power provided that your stamina is up to it. It doesn't get much faster then this! The same combination used by the 2003 World Champion, Austrian Werner Schlager.

Tennis

Racket - Wilson [K] Six.One Tour. Headsize: 90", Strung Weight: 12.5oz, Length: 27", String Pattern: 16 X 19, Strung Balance: 9 pts. HL, 17mm flat beam.

Strings - Wilson NXT Tour 17 gauge Strings (Next closest thing to Natural Gut) - restrung at 68lbs (overstrung from recommended 50-60lbs as per racket indication suggests)

Grip Size - 4 3/8

Grip - Wilson Pro OverGrip (White)

Bag - Black Wilson [K] Pro Tour Super Six. Includes Removable Waterproof bag for wet clothes or shoes, Plush Shoulder strap and 2nd end carry handle, Thermoguard, moistureguard and extra center compartments.

Comment: Needed to get a replacement for my aging 16 years old Wilsons' Prostaff 6.1 rackets previously used by former tennis legend Stefan Edberg after picking up the game earlier this year after a 7 year sabbatical. Thanks for inviting me to play again Din & boy! Due to my heavy top spin ground strokes and my aggressive play nature, I needed a thin racket head, so I opt for the same model albeit nowadays replaced with strange materials unknown to me. Karophite Black? Nano Technology? Hey bring it on man. Due to its expensive cost, I opt to buy just one. Gone are the days when real good tennis rackets cost around the S$170 figure, this one cost a walloping 284 buckaroos! The whole enchilada cost me a whooping 434 bucks together with the new bag, the overgrip, the strings and the service to restring the new racket. Only been able to play with the racket just once since I bought it due to my back minor ops, but 1st impression was unbelievable control and incredible power! Hey Roger Federer, you da man! man... No wonder youre the world's no 1 tennis player! You got my support there...

Golf

Driver - Taylor Made Burner (TP) 460cc Driver with RE-AX SuperFast 65 Graphite Stiff Flex

Fairway Wood - Taylor Made Hybrid 3W Rescue Wood, with RE-AX SuperFast 65 Graphite Stiff Flex

Irons - Callaway X-Forged Irons 3-PW, Project-X Steel Shaft, 6.5 Flex

Wedges - Callaway Forged X-Tour Series Wedges Satin Chrome 52 & 56 degrees X-Tour Steel shaft. Callaway Forged X-Tour PM Wedge Satin Chrome 60 degrees X-Tour Steel Shaft.

Putter - Odyssey Black Series Milled Blade Putter, 33" length.

Golf Bag - My Old Honma 9.5" Tour Bag

Comments: These are my new guns to replace my old 18 years old Taylor Made burner set, driver, 3W, 5W, Iron Burners #3-9, PW, SW and Zebra Mallet Putter. Fed up already with my uncles, cousins and buddies laughing at my old equipment plus my golf game sucks so bad! I thought that it would be nice for a change and try to get my handicap down to a less embarrassing 100 or so down. Officially I'm handicapped 24, but I'm playing 48 right now. Yeah yeah yeah laugh on , laugh on. I don't think I will make it down to my college days handicap of 9 12 years ago, but then again I was playing everyday then and my current status of golf play is on and off every few years and when invited. I don't want to win a box of golf balls again for being the most active player for the tournament. So I did this. Eliminate all possibilities of excuses and get myself a good set to start up again. This time its me and my game, no more excuses provided that I have the time to play the "Gentleman's game"(duuuh....minus the laughing and humiliations involved) - Karang kamu! Tunggu ku steadi! Grrrrrrrr.......Hehehe!

All I have to do now is try to remember to look down and follow through, remember the basics and walla....a good ball up in the air....NOT!!!

Beloney, I'm so crap in this game I just don't know how to play it anymore. Its so frustrating and yet my desire to at least cut down my swinging action and loss of balls could at least get me to breathe less. Its more stressful than my work I tell you at this moment in time!

Anyway, as I always believe I will not give up easily and hopefully things will go for the better. Remember like its riding a bicycle, the basics is still somewhere around my mind, just need to extract it.

Ok ok ok....my honest opinion on these clubs? The driver is sweet and far as long as I can hit it perfectly. A little off center and its still forgiving although a little less distance and directionally still manageable.

The 3Hybrid Rescue is really really sweet....should have just bought a set of hybrids #4, #5, #6, #7 and give up on my irons. I really recommend this hybrid wood to anyone and I mean anyone! I can hit this baby around the 200-230 mark easily. I call this my recovery 2nd shot wood!

My major problem is the Irons, I cant hit any of these Irons from #3 to #6 consistently and keeps on rolling on the ground more often than its supposed to fly up in the air. But who am I to know? Helleow!!! I don't play often enough or even go to the driving range enough to comment let alone critique it. Anyways, the #7 to #9 is fairly consistent, real sweet to hit. Thats where my regrets diminish. It feels like a breath of fresh air. Then again, these Irons are forged @ Blade Irons, so I expect some inconsistency on my part.

Wedges. Yes....a brilliant choice! I can hit these buggers with my eyes closed! Walau eih! Daymn good stuff I tell you! the 60 degree lofted wedge does amazing things....so easy on the sand traps and such a pleasure to play anywhere around the fringe and 20 meters back. Yeap...my 3 wedges does a really good job anywhere from 110 meters and below.... Good call.

Lastly, my pretty expensive putter, the Black Milled Odyssey. I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo glad I got this! Extremely glad, huge...enormous......gigantically pleased! Suprisingly soft touched, and extremely good feedback! I can actually caress the ball into the hole! I tell you anywhere around the 8 meters to the hole, you feel confident to get it in the hole 75-80% of the time, otherwise you're just short of the cup by a few inches. Yes I am ultimately fond of this gadget, but not way off to sleep with it.

Yeap....now if only I have the time to indulge myself in this game that I am completely lost confidence in. Yeah I do not have much time in my line of work, but then again I dont want that to be an excuse. I have my great equipment, so I think I'd better make time for it. So you'd better watch out guys! Bobawang is coming your way! FORE!!!!!!!!!

Nikon come out with new Models

The introduction of 2 new models which was launched on the 23rd August 2007 by Nikon, the D3 which is its new flagship and the D300.

Both comes with 12.3MP (in which some might question why only 12.3MP? Prolly Nikon is focussing more on super fiaaast speed, on sensitivity, auto focus and continuous shooting?) and a huge lovely 3" 922,000 pixel LCD monitor! Lawa Eih!

Nikon professional D3 is the very first full frame 35mm camera using the 'FX format' featuring ISO6400 with 25600 available as boost options, 14bit A/D conversion, new shutter, new image processor, new 51 point autofocus sensor, focus tracking by colour, 9 frames per sec continuous with 64 frames buffer. Walau eih!

Nikon D300 is introduced less than 2 years intro of the D200, and its changes are pretty much significant to the older predecessor, it should be categorised also as a super douper professional camera too. Of course, there are many similarities with the D3, there is a new CMOS sensor which churns out 12.3MP, a new autofocus sensor with 51 points, again the focus tracking by colour, scene recognition, 6 frames per second continuous shooting( 8 frames if using battery pack) with 100 frames buffer and another new addition, the HDMI video output.

Now I want anyone of these cameras. How to get? Hmm.....will have to figure that out wont we? As for the price, not really sure how much each one of these gadgets cost in Spore, but word has it on the streets that the D3 costs anywhere around the S$10k-11.5K, and the D300 cost around less than S$4k mark. Yeah...I would go for the D300, more than enough to use at 30% of its features or less. Now I just have to wait for the dough to roll and also get it at the right time when the price has gone down combined with getting it in time before it is contracted to Nikon's Thailand factory. "Made in Japan" is sure more appealing though.

Pay up or take out!

Today is the 28th August 2007. I have finally decided to give some of my customers/clients the ultimatum. To pay by today or I will remove every single product delivered to them and undo the services that we provided. As they say, business is business. Regardless...of which entity or persons or connections.

So pay up or you will taste the wrath of bobawang! Don't make me do it now..... coz lo' & behold, I am a wolf in sheep's clothing.

Stress Reliever?

Fudge it all. I'm going to treat myself to Laksa Nyonya, Durian Cendol & Pie Tee. Went to Sweet & Savoury with Gadgetski, the symbian guru after deciding not to go for Rosmini Soto for lunch. Yeap, spoilt my dietary plan of lowering my cholesterol, my high blood pressure and indulge myself with one of my favourite food of all time. The noodles were slurpy, the curry santan was awesome although 3/4 of the way I got guilt conscious and didnt finish the soup. But everything else was gobbled out of sight. Gadgetski didnt choose wisely and got himself nasi goreng cina, which I thought was a little too simple to have. But anyway, he said it was alright. It would have done his tummy justice by picking up the "other" choice. Hehehe. By the time we got out from the restaurant, we were really full, but I was happy to just pull away from my dietary regiment to relieve my stressed week. Looking forward to the weekend and relax.

Menagih ani payah!

It is so frustrating to follow up on claims I tell you! Work so hard night and day just to get the things done and delivered to your clients, and then you get held back with their delayed payments. Its a conspiracy I tell you! Its like these people seem to know that you are claiming for payments and somehow or rather their phone is off, not picked up or simply ignored.

Please lah.....give pity to small SME's that are struggling to make ends meet. At least let us try to make things out from the small amount that we have to be able to come up with the necessary funds for the next orders from clients. Otherwise, we will not be efficient to supply and to provide!

We need the dough to grow as well and be more competitive. No businesses in their right mind would like to be tied up on delayed payments because we cannot react to other requests efficiently enough. We need to be dynamic and efficient in providing products and services o the public and private sectors. By taking away our funds and holding it back makes us inefficient, un-resourceful and lowers morale.

Take away the red tapes, the jealousy, the bureaucratic who haa and allow us to grow and build on it. Dont delay payments coz its not yours in the first place. Its our right, its what belongs to us....give it to us efficiently and in a timely manner. Help us to help you! Coz in the end, as a society we all lose!

Golf man's little wish toys in his bag

This is the kind of golf equipment I would love....love......love.....to have in my golf bag. But alas, my time is limited and my golf game is deteriorating so rapidly, I cannot begin to comprehend how bad my golf game is. It would be a fluke to even break 100! Things have changed...life has changed... priorities have definitely changed. Gone are the days when you can go out and play golf after college and spend your time in the field and appreciate nature. Never mind....life has to go on. Someday I might get my swing and rhythm back in my game. When? Just dont know.... I think it is time to just go graphite shaft, and dont think as if I can make it like before..... forget about steel shaft and being able to hit it harder like before.... Its time to go gracefully into that good night.... and admit that graphite is the way to go about it. Ya' noe wha 'a mean 'arry?

Wednesday 22 August 2007

Can you just believe that?

Groan......

What a day....

Got a splitting headache, sweating profusely on my bed, sore throat, dizziness, got a high fever and furthermore aching back and joints, even ciggies tasted awful!(Good time to quit though) I never expected to get all these symptoms all at the same time just by taking out a growth on my back? Is it coz its close to the spine or something like that? If I had known the effects of the ops, I could have postponed it for another day. Cheaach right, the doctor mentioned that the next available date was in November 2007. Nu uh, don't think so. I believe its best to get it over and done with, worried that it was growing too big too fast.
I could remember the doctor saying to me on the ops table that she had to cut my wound deeper coz she didn't expect the growth to be as big as first thought. Daymn, if I had waited any longer, I would have a hole on my back the size of a 50 cent coin???? It was like an iceberg, you only see the iceberg above water, what is beneath the water is 4/5 of the iceberg. Same idea as the cyst, looks small-ish at first, only to know that its deep inside.

Didn't turn up for work today, had to cancel all important meetings and trying to get well for tomorrow for the ever more important meeting up in KB in the afternoon. Been a good boy, swallowing the pills in time and getting as much rest as possible trying to overcome all the aches and pains.

What a day..........

Tuesday 14 August 2007

Minor Ops.

Had a minor operation this afternoon removing a 5 cent cyst at my back. My very first purposely cut incision on my old coming 40 body. It started as a zit on my back, but i figured that I should bug it by teasing it out. But nu uh...it refuses to break. And walla!! Six months later I got a clogged sebaceous cyst and it kindda collected the sweat and dirt. So annoyed with it bulging on my back and also preventing me from my macho-ness wearing my tight t's (why tight? One might ask....hahaha adatah tu (naik badan wang)), I just had to go the doc to get it removed.
Eksyen on the operation table macam nada sakit saja dapan the doc and nurse...tapi a few hours later, its hurting like nobody's business!! Where is the hard stuff when you need one! Hehehe. Apa ni doc? Augmentin antibiotics and panadol? Cant you see I'm in pain here!?!?!??!
Oh yeah, what came out was an almost white ball-shaped cyst as big as 5 cents. A word of advice, You folks out there.. if you feel a zit on your back, dont try to scratch it out, especially with unwashed hands, leave it to the professional...
And whatever you do, dont do this at home....(hehehe I always wanted to say that..)

P.S - I will have the result from the lab on this in 2 weeks time. Maybe I could have my part of the body back again...and do my own experiment...yeaaahhh right.. perasahan CSI kali?!

IT HURRTTTTSSS!!!

One of the many gadgets I own to light up my fags. Yeap, its been with me for a few months now and it seems that its going to finish in say a month's time? This Thailand made "Alladin" gadget is cool in a way it consistently handles the lighting up of my ciggies, and once in a while borrowed to light up the pile of rubbish, twigs and dead leaves around the house to provide additional fumes to the now depleted ozone. The cost of this gadget? One Brunei dollar! Expensive, but very reliable from the ones sold for a dollar for 3 pieces made in Indonesia which breaks down after a few light ups.

So if you guys smoke or need a reliable lighter, go for Alladin lighters usually sold in kadai runcits, sitting close to the cashier and well wrapped in plastic.

Need a holiday after a Tired Weekend

Sunday, 4th August 2007, the much awaited date for my favourite show of the weekend, Formula 1 at Hungary and the much anticipated showdown of the Premiership champions Manchester United FC and the FA Cup Champion Chelsea FC. The final result ending with me having a late sleep thinking of the events that were stuck in my mind before finally sleeping at 3am in the morning.

The First Show started at 7pm on Starsports, with highlights of the Qualifying session held a day before for the race day grid positions. Final grid positions were official with Lewis Hamilton of the McLaren Mercedes inheriting the pole form his fellow McLaren team mate Fernando Alonso, deemed to have impeded Lewis during qualifying. Alonso was demoted to sixth position and Team McLaren were also punished for the incident after the stewards decided that Alonso had delayed Hamilton during their final Q3 pitstops and that the team had not managed the situation properly, thus will not be eligible for the constructors' points in the race, pending the teams appeal to this decision. Yade yade yade.......

Crap, even within the team pun boleh beulah? Anyway, I spare you guys the details on formula 1, for more details go to http://www.formula1.com. Anyway, at least my team won, despite its internal incident. Here is the final standings:

Note - McLaren scored no constructors' points as penalty for Alonso impeding Hamilton during qualifying.

The next show was immediately after Formula 1 airing on ESPN channel 81, the FA Charity Shield which pitted the mighty Manchester United vs. Chelsea FC, both champions in their own right. It was a wonderful game to watch, although some first eleven players were missing on both sides. Manchester opened up the score with Ryan Giggs striking it on the top middle of the Chelsea net and just before half time, Malouda, the new Frenchman Chelsea recently acquired, wrestled Rio Ferdinand to sublimely nick the ball over Van Der Sar using his outside right foot into the net.

The score stayed the same until the final 90 minutes and the penalty shootout was called for. Van Der Sar Saved all three penalties from Chelsea's chosen penalty kickers whilst Man U scored all three without having to get the other 2 additional kickers to spot kick, making the Charity Shield Trophy, the 3rd trophy won by Man U for this season.

A great preview of the next 9 months of football season to come starting next week. Will Manchester United be able to defend its Premier league title and also be able to challenge in 3 additional fronts of the European Championship league, the FA and the league cups? Or will Chelsea be the team to come up with such bids? Mind you, Liverpool and Arsenal have all beefed up their squads, and so have the teams outside the top four teams, notably Totenham Hotspurs, Manchester City under the new Asian owner and former Premier of Thailand, Mr. Taksin Shinawatra and his new gaffer, Former England Manager, Sven Goran Eriksson. Other notable teams to watch are Newcastle United and Sunderland under former Manchester United Skipper? Its going to be an exciting 9 months of football I tell you.

Formula 1 being 3/5ths of the way with very close points in the drivers championship as well as the constructors championship especially with the twist of McLaren losing constructor's points? Will rookie Lewis Hamilton (McLaren Mercedes) win the Formula 1 driver's championship on his first year stint in Formula 1 or will the Defending Champion Fernando Alonso (McLaren Mercedes) be able to overcome the 7 points deficit and retain it? Is Ferrari going to up their machines during these last few races and provide former McLaren Mercedes driver Kimi Raikonen and his team mate Filipe Massa both at postion 3 & 4 respectively with 21 points separating the first and forth drivers with 6 more races to go?

No wonder I'm tired, with so much excitement and the looking forward to next week, such previews of what is to come is simply overwhelming for a puny man to recover sufficiently to the workdays ahead. Nerve-wrecking man!!!

I leave you guys to comment...................

Honda Civic 3 doors Type R 2007

The Honda Civic 3 Doors Type R had its full launching last Friday in Brunei as invitations for Honda owners as well as the public were asked to view this nice car. There was also lucky draws for guests and unfortunately for me who owns two hondas with two available tickets for the draw didnt even get one hit.

The pictures above doesn't give the car the credit it deserves, it so much nicer when viewed in the showroom. With 201 ponies in its bonnet, it zooms to 0-100km/h in late six seconds. The car catalog mentions it being a conservative 7.1 seconds, but car magazines rates it as low as 6.4 seconds! Not bad for a car that weighs just around the 1,250kg.

The first shipment to Brunei is only 10 units, and the car comes in black, Crimson Red or Silver. Unfortunately all 10 units were booked even before the launching. According to the salesmen, the second shipment will be in early August and bookings as well as deposits are required to avoid disappointments.

Quality
Currently built only in the Honda factory in Swindon, England, the construction is solid, compact and very well fitted with each components. The doors felt pretty heavy for the hot hatch, this is probably due to the large glass windows on each side of the driver and front passenger much like the feel of the Honda Odyssey. My guess is depending on where it is built, the demand for safety and quality construction is very much in the agenda, it feels more like a European Car rather than a Japanese car.

Image
Being a typical sports hatch, the Type R has a small side skirt spoilers, deep front spoilers with air intakes as well as a noticeably large triangular front fog lamps. A black mesh grille on the front has a red "H" badge that marks it out from the normal mainstream Hondas (usually with shiny "H" badge). This car seems to have triangles as its main concept, because at every angle you look at the car, you will notice triangular shapes all around. Even the door handles is long and triangular in shape. From behind, the first thing you notice is 2 large triangular exhaust tailpipes integrated nicely into the back underspoiler. A more overt rear spoiler hangs on the glass panels enough to show that this car is no typical hot hatch. It sits on 18 inch (was it 7 spokes or 5 spokes I cant remember) rims, enveloped with a sticky Bridgestone Potenza RE050 225/40 tyres and the suspensions is obviously lowered and sporty. You can see a red coloured braking system through the rims signifying that this is no play play kindda car.

Driving
The Civic Type-R may not have on-paper power output figures to top its class - it's 40bhp down on the Astra VXR and Leon Cupra - but, with its light weight, its 0-62mph acceleration time is competitive. With the VTEC variable-valve and camshaft timing technology now kicking in earlier down the rev range, and more smoothly, the engine feels more flexible, and it's altogether more driveable at lower engine speeds. In the old Type-R, you may as well have been driving a base-model 1.3 until 7,000rpm, which meant for a pretty dull drive in most normal road conditions unless you redlined it, but this car feels more special for day-to-day driving, with less effort. And when you want to unleash the full screaming, race-engine effect, the option's still there - the full 198bhp peaks at 7,800rpm (400rpm higher than before), so you can wind it right up before the 8,000rpm limit. It's a far more versatile all-round set-up. Other improvements to the power delivery, and the way it's transmitted to the wheels, include a new electronic drive-by-wire throttle and a shorter-throw gear lever for the six-speed manual 'box. The sixth gear final-drive ratio has been lowered a little, to ensure that the Type-R just keeps on a-comin'. - (taken from car magazine) - I believe the writer coz we were not allowed to bring it for a spin that time.

Equipment

The sports seats were comfortable and snuggly, two toned red with black sides and was not too narrow for the wider hipped. The wraparound shoulder/neck design however hinders one from looking too far around the back. The upholstery was as I remembered correctly was leather though, all seat adjustments were manual, but it was enough to provide you with the driving position that you want. The rear seats were ample to it in 3 medium sized men, although I would say that 2 guys sitting behind on each side would be ideal. The cabin appears relatively roomy due to the also large glass rear window and flat floor.

The dashboard potrays a nice tri-spoke sports steering with cruise control buttons on the right side of the spoke and the left controls the radio/CD system. The red "H" logo sits right in the middle of the steering wheel to remind you that youre not in some common jalopy. The first thing I noticed on the dashboard is this huge RPM dial with the red line indicated around the 8k and a bit mark. The speedometer is digital where it is allocated right above the RPM dial. Then you have the other indicators on the right showing the temperature and fuel gauge. The left are smaller indicators such as hand brakes, headlights, etc. One indicator I noticed which I have never noticed in other hondas is the VTEC indicator. Trying to be a smart alec, the VTEC indicator lights up when the VTEC function is faulty? The smiling salesman next to me explained that the VTEC indicator lights up when the VTEC is on. Oh wow... thats nice, not really necessary but nice to have anyway. Switching on the lights, the instrumentation and gauge is lit with a high tech red and that really give some wow-ing amongst the on-lookers. Below on the foot stow are nice metal pedals, with rubber dots to hold your foot in place in times of slip? The type R has a manual 6 gears with a metal knob placed placed on a 45 degree incline. Although the shift throw is unexpectedly longer when you enter the gears, but it was precise and felt study, a feeling that you normally associate with sporty cars.

On the far right of the dashboard is a nice red Start button, something of a standard these days for European cars and the luxurious Lexus marque, but on a honda? Yeap, I'll take that too.

Now, whats the damage for this big gadget? Brunei dollars $51,600. Excuse me? Did I hear that correctly? Yes.....$51,600 on the road. Maaaaaaan......this little sports car costs more than my 3.0 V6 twin VTEC 250 pony 0-100kmh 6.2sec 2003 Honda Accord 4 door disguised wolf in sheep's clothing! Uh ah......not having it.....I think I will save my moolah for something more affordable.
